Add a text or image watermark to PDF pages

The Add PDF Watermark tool lets you place either custom text or an image over existing PDF pages and control how the watermark appears before the new document is saved. It can be used for labels such as CONFIDENTIAL, DRAFT or INTERNAL, as well as logos and other branding elements.

Choose between a text and image watermark

For a text watermark, you can enter your own wording and adjust the font size and colour. For visual branding, the tool accepts PNG, JPG and WebP images, allowing a logo or another graphic to be placed directly on the PDF page.

Control opacity, size and rotation

A watermark does not need to obscure the document beneath it. The tool provides controls for opacity, size and rotation so the mark can remain visible while the original text, tables and illustrations stay readable. A lighter opacity is often suitable for full-page status labels, while a smaller solid mark can work well for a logo.

Choose the watermark position

Horizontal and vertical placement can be selected while viewing the PDF page. Check the position carefully when documents contain headers, footers, tables, signatures or forms, because these areas should remain easy to read after the watermark is added.

Apply the watermark to one page or every page

For multi-page documents, the watermark can be applied across all pages instead of repeating the same operation manually. You can also work with the current page when only a specific part of the document needs the mark.

How the PDF is processed

The page is previewed with PDF rendering technology in the browser, and the selected text or image is embedded into a new PDF document. When the operation finishes, a separate watermarked PDF is generated for download, leaving the source file available separately.

Tips for a cleaner result

Use a sufficiently detailed logo if it will be enlarged, and select a colour that remains visible against the page background without reducing readability. For PDFs with different page designs, review several pages before downloading the final document.
