Add a signature to a PDF document
The PDF signing tool lets you place a visible signature on a document without printing it and scanning it again. This can be convenient for forms, acknowledgements, approvals, and other documents that require a signature to be placed in a specific area.
Position the signature carefully
Select the correct page and place the signature where it is intended to appear. Adjust its size so that it remains clear without covering text, dates, form fields, or other important information. Review the whole page before saving the result.
A visible signature is not always a digital signature
Placing a drawn or image-based signature on a PDF does not necessarily create a certificate-based digital signature or an identity-verification process. Acceptance requirements depend on the document and the receiving organization, so check those requirements when they matter.
Keep the original document
Save the signed version separately rather than immediately replacing your original file. This gives you a clean copy to return to if the signature was placed incorrectly or another version needs to be prepared.
Review before sending
Open the finished PDF and confirm that the signature is visible, the required pages are present, and the file opens normally. Sensitive signed documents should be shared only with the intended recipients through an appropriate channel.
